Unilorin VC & Others Raise Fund for Student's Kidney Transplant

 

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Professor Abdul Ganiyu Ambali, Monday, rescued one of his students, a renal patient from the throes of death when he donated N2.5 million towards his treatment.

Mandela Hospitalized Again

 Former South African President Nelson Mandela remained in a Pretoria hospital for a third day for treatment of a lung infection after being admitted for a fourth time since December.

“Former President Nelson Mandela remains in hospital, and his condition is unchanged,” the presidency said in an e-mail. The statement was first official comment on Mandela’s health since June 8, when President Jacob Zuma’s office said he had been admitted and his condition was “serious but stable.”Read more after the cut....

As impeachment threat is before Rivers State governor, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi's Presidential campaign posters for 2015 flood the city of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.

But the governor has denied having any ambition to contest the 2015 election against President Goodluck Jonathan, saying the posters might be the handiwork of his political detractors. Governor Amaechi's poster with the Peoples Democrtic Party, PDP, logo, pasted along the highway and some bus stops, especially, the Federal Housing Estate Kubwa, Dutse bus stop and others, struggled for space with Church Crusade posters. Nigeria: NCC Insists On Disconnecting Unregistered Subscribers

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has insisted it would give orders for the disconnection of all unregistered SIM cards by June 30, this year.
